The Clearlake Police Department has announced that missing juvenile, Abby Herrin, 16, has been located.  The department thanks the public for its assistance in the matter.

King Tides on the Mendocino Coast starting tomorrow could cause minor flooding through Sunday, with the peak tides expected Friday. Low-lying harbors, beach parking, and coastal trails could be impacted.

The California Highway Patrol’s New Year’s Holiday Enforcement Period (HEP) will run from 6 p.m. Dec. 31 to 11:59 p.m. Jan. 1, focusing on impaired and reckless driving. The recent Christmas HEP saw 297 DUI arrests.  Call 9-1-1 to report drunk drivers.

The Ukiah Players Theatre and Ukiah Brewing Company will host their main annual fundraiser, the “Countdown to Curtain” cabaret, to ring in the new year. The Lakeport City Council is looking for applicants from fire district residents to fill a mid-term vacancy on the Lakeport Fire Protection District Board of Directors. The appointed term runs until December 31, 2026. Applications are available on the city’s website.

A woman died near Fort Bragg last Tuesday after a large wave swept her into the ocean at MacKerricher State Park. MCSO deputies responded after witnesses pulled the unresponsive woman, likely in her 70s, from the water and performed life-saving measures. She was pronounced dead at the scene.

Fort Bragg is polling residents on replacing the traditional Fourth of July fireworks with a drone light show, weighing fireworks’ pollution, safety, especially fire safety, and distress concerns (for veterans and pets) against the spectacle and tradition. The Ukiah Valley Water Authority is proposing rate increases to fund maintenance, infrastructure upgrades, and long-term system reliability following a regional rate study. The analysis covered four agencies: Millview County Water District, Redwood Valley County Water District, Willow County Water District, and the city of Ukiah.
