Lakeport Man Arrested Twice Last Week Remains in Custody

A Lakeport man who had been arrested and released from jail last Wednesday for possession of a large quantity of meth, was arrested again on Thursday for stealing a vehicle and attempting to use the victim’s credit cards. 28-year-old Austin Anthony Schweitzer remains in custody at the Lake County Jail.

Another COVID-19 related death was reported in Lake County on Friday, bringing the total to 40. The number of active cases dropped by 10 to 111, and the number of overall cases remains at 3.021. As of Thursday, there were 2 people hospitalized in county hospitals.
