Update on Bell Fire

Forward progress on the Bell Fire east of Leggett was stopped at 50 acres. The fire, that started early Saturday morning, caused an evacuation order to be issued for the Foster Creek Road/Bell Springs Road area. Those evacuation orders have since been lifted. The fire is 65-percent contained.

The Ukiah Valley Fire Authority has determined that Wednesday afternoon’s Highway Fire was intentionally set. Residents in the hills east of Ukiah were evacuated after the fire that started on River Street at Highway 101 quickly spread east.
