Three New Mendocino Corrections Deputies Sworn In

Three new Mendocino County deputies were sworn in on Monday. Juan Ayala, Daniel Buschbacher, and Kevin Aguilar will work in the Mendocino County Jail after completing their training. They were sworn in during a ceremony at the Sheriff’s Office Training Center in Ukiah with family and friends in attendance.

Ukiah City Council to Consider Campfire Ordinance

The Ukiah City Council at its meeting this evening at 5:15 will consider an ordinance that will help law enforcement address campfires being built on private property for cooking and other uses. A loophole in the city code has allowed the practice, which has caused a disproportionate number of fires in the city limits.

Work on Albion River Bridge Remains Unknown

The fate of the 80-year-old Albion River Bridge continues to be a mystery known only to Caltrans. The bridge is still safe, but according to Caltrans has a limited lifespan as it stands and needs reinforcement. Caltrans is offering five options regarding the bridge and nothing more. City of Laytonville to Celebrate Big Birthday

Judge Rules in Favor of Yuba Community College Faculty

A judge has ruled that the Yuba Community College District violated labor law and workers’ rights in negotiations with faculty. Emails union leadership circulated to staff said the district has continued to challenge the contract currently in place with staff that both sides have agreed to for more than 30 years.

Man Arrested On Probation Violation, $250K Bond Issued

One man was arrested and 2 others were questioned during a probation search in Fort Bragg. Officers observed Kenneth Partridge acting suspiciously. He was questioned and arrested on drug charges and possession of a weapon by a felon, as well as probation violation. Bail was set at $250K due to his prior record.
