Saturday, the life and service of Mendocino Superior Court Judge David Nelson was celebrated by a standing-room-only crowd at the SPACE auditorium in Ukiah. The family has established the Dave Nelson Fund to benefit health, substance abuse, and treatment with the Community Foundation of Mendocino County.

SNAP food benefits are being sent out by the state due to power outages at the beginning of March. Mendocino County is included in the list of counties where benefits are being replaced. A Clearlake man appeared in court on charges of attempted murder and assault after a shooting near Austin Park. Treyvon Lashawn Jones was given new counsel by the court and a preliminary hearing has been set for sometime in April. Jones remains out on bail.
