Route 128 Open After Flooding Causes Brief Closure

State Route 128, one of Mendocino County’s main east/west corridors is open again after closing briefly early yesterday morning. The closure was from where 128 intersects with Highway 1 on the coast inland to Navarro. Continued wet weather midweek could continue flooding issues in that area.

Mendocino National Forest Looking for Firefighters

The Mendocino National Forest is recruiting for the firefighter on-call program. Interested candidates should attend one of the in-person hiring days, 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Jan. 16 to 17, in Upper Lake at 10025 Elk Mountain Road. Register online at fs.usda.gov. The deadline to register is February 1st.
