The California State Parks Department has announced 19 projects that will receive grants from the California Habitat Conservation Fund. Sharing in the 6.7 million dollars in funding is the new Cobb Park. $207,500 will go toward the purchase price of $300,000 for the 13 acres of land in Cobb.

The Upper Lake off-highway vehicle trails and Deer Valley Campground are once again open in the Mendocino National Forest. The facilities had been closed due to storm damage since February. Visitors are cautioned to continue to be aware of their surroundings as trees may continue to fall and trails may be blocked.
