Governor Newsom late last week signed a proclamation ending 22 open states of emergency for various fires, storms, and other incidents. Several of those emergencies extend back to 2017 and were for incidents in Lake County. The declaration says emergency status is no longer necessary for response and recovery efforts.
The excessive heat warning has now been extended until late Saturday evening for Lake County and the Southeastern Mendocino Interior. Temperatures of 105 to 113 can be expected.
