Lake County Supers Approves Budget for Fiscal 2025-26

The Lake County Board of Supervisors at their meeting on Wednesday, approved a $420 million budget for fiscal year 2025-26. That 412 page budget is just under $19.5 million more than last year. The board will hold another public hearing on the final budget, scheduled for September 23rd, ahead of the October 2nd adoption deadline.

Lake County Code Enforcement Officer Pleads No Contest to Bribery Charges

A Lake County code enforcement officer arrested for bribery and grand theft pleaded no contest to two counts of accepting a bribe in Lake County Superior Court. Cache Fire Near Walker Ridge Being Brought Under Control

A fast-moving fire dubbed the Cache Fire broke out in Lake County near Walker Ridge on Tuesday afternoon, burning just under 10 acres. Lakeport Planning Commission Approves Safeway Subdivision Request

The Lakeport Planning Commission has approved Safeway’s application to subdivide the property where its 11th Street shopping center is located. The division will split the Safeway store from the rest of the property, but everything else will remain the same. The application will now go to the Lakeport City Council for final approval.
