A power outage in south Lake County outage was caused by the weather. Over 800 residents, in and around Hidden Valley Lake and Spruce Grove Road, were without power from Saturday night to Sunday morning. PG&E sent out a helicopter on Sunday morning to look for the cause of the outage.
An excessive heat warning is in effect until tonight for Northeastern Mendocino Interior, and Northern and Southern Lake County. This follows another weekend where temperatures reached triple digits. A new daily record of 111 degrees was set at Ukiah on Saturday. The old record for the date was 110 set in 2002.
New COVID-19 cases in Mendocino County are connected to a Ukiah restaurant, and Willits Frontier Days. The Lake County Fire Protection District is asking for the community’s help in locating thousands of feet of stolen fire hose and other equipment taken from the scene of the Wilkinson fire. That fire occurred on June 21st in Clearlake. Anyone with information is asked to contact the Lake County Fire Protection District.
