A Gualala woman who went missing last week was found deceased. 69-year-old Kerry Bonnano was first reported missing on December 30th. The COVID-19 outbreak at the Mendocino County Jail continues to expand. The Sheriff’s office reports that at least one inmate was hospitalized last week as the outbreak expanded to include 73 people testing positive. The Clearlake Police Department is searching for a man in connection to a New Year’s Day shooting. 31-year-old Jose Ceja-Torres, of Clearlake, is wanted for the felony violations of attempted murder and assault with a deadly weapon. The victim is a 41-year-old Clearlake resident.

ICU capacity continues to decrease in most of California’s state-designated regions. Northern California continues to outpace all other regions, and as of the first of the year, was at 33.3 percent.

The death of an inmate at the Lake County Jail is being investigated. Officials say 46-year-old Daniel King, of Clearlake, who was in custody while awaiting transfer to a state prison, died after being found unresponsive in his cell. There were no signs of trauma and COVID-19 does not appear to be a factor.
