Vietnam veterans are once again being recognized for their service today, as Welcome Home Day is being observed. The observation follows National Welcome Home Day which took place yesterday. About 10% of the war’s casualties came from California, according to the Governor’s Office. Five Lake County men were reported to have died in that war.

An unidentified Ukiah woman died on Monday evening in a three-vehicle crash on Highway 20 near Lake Mendocino in Mendocino County. It is believed standing water in the roadway may have been a factor. The CHP says the crash remains under investigation.
