Wreaths created to be laid on the graves of veterans in cemeteries across Lake County should be arriving later today brought by the Wreaths Across America program. The truck is scheduled to pull into town at 5 this evening. Ceremonies to place the wreaths will take place beginning at 8:50 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 18.

With the Omicron variant of COVID-19 slowly moving across the country, local emergency room physician Dr. Drew Colfax says he’s concerned local hospitals will experience another crisis level wave of cases next month after holidays are over. Colfax also says the county is still seeing about 20 new cases a day.
