Pacific Gas & Electric was charged Friday with manslaughter and other crimes after its equipment sparked a Northern California wildfire that killed four people and destroyed hundreds of homes last year in the Zogg Fire near Rediding. The Shasta County District Attorney announced 31 charges, including 11 felonies, against PG&E.

Name of Man in Fatal Lake County Crash Released

The man who died in a single-vehicle crash on Monday has been identified as 33-year-old Claud Alexander Walker, of Willits. The Lake County Sheriff’s Office says Walker was reportedly driving at a high rate of speed on Highway 20 before his vehicle went off the road and struck two trees, sparking a small vegetation fire.
