The CHP-Clear Lake Area office will conduct a checkpoint tomorrow, Friday, somewhere in the unincorporated area of Lake County. Vehicles will be checked for drivers who are under the influence of alcohol or drugs or driving unlicensed.

After a preliminary hearing last week, Judge J. David Markham ordered Joe Nathan Boggs, Jr. to stand trial in the death last year of 17-year-old Illeanna Makena Frease. Ukiah PD reports a Willits man has been arrested and booked into the Mendocino County Jail on a $1 million bond. John A. McCullough, 43 was driving and was located by the FLOCK camera system. A wildfire has started in the hills northeast of Covelo. The Bluenose Fire is about 8.5 miles northeast of Covelo and is holding at about 5 acres.

The Lake County Chamber of Commerce has appointed Greg Folsom as its new interim administrator. Folsom served as the city manager for Clearlake from 2015 through 2019. He also served as the city manager for Suisun City.

The Clearlake Police Department has announced that 17-year-old Shawn Rodriguez Stokes, reported missing on Tuesday has been located.
