Burn Areas in Mendocino National Forest Closed for Cleanup

Three administrative sites in the Mendocino National forest are being closed temporarily for hazardous material cleanup. High Glade lookout, Keller Place and Beaver Glade fire station are all affected and the cleanup should be done by the 30th. The public is asked to avoid those areas and be mindful of heavy equipment on forest roads.

Traffic Stop Busts Up Mail Theft Ring

A traffic stop has resulted in the discovery and dismantling of a mail theft ring in Mendocino County. Four occupants of the vehicle were taken into custody. 53 stolen checks totaling over $60,000 were recovered, as well as other personal documents and mail.

Lakeport Planning Commission Meets Tomorrow
