News Staff When the Lakeport City Council meets tomorrow evening, it will consider updates to local regulations that protect against contamination of drinking water caused by backflow. The council will also hear a presentation by the Lake County Land Trust and Supervisor Bruno Sabatier’s annual update on Peg TV.
The National Weather Service in Eureka has issued a wind advisory for eastern Lake County through 2 pm. Sustained north winds of 20-30 mph are expected, peaking at 50 mph, especially along ridge lines and exposed roads. High profile vehicles should exercise caution.
A Lakeport man has been found guilty of DUI in court on Thursday. Eliseo Del Aguila, age 32, of Lakeport, was found guilty of driving a motor vehicle on November 30th of last year with a blood alcohol level of .16, twice the legal limit. Battalion Chief Ryan Nelson said someone working on the yard found something in a nearby ditch that looked suspicious and reported it. Theres a beach hazards statement in effect through this afternoon for the Mendocino Coast. An increased threat of sneaker waves is expected. Avoid rocks and jetties. Avoid steep beaches. Stay much farther back from the water as unexpected waves can carry a person or objects into the sea.
