Lakeport Pedestrian Killed Has Been Identified

Lakeport Police have identified the pedestrian killed on Sunday evening. Craig Gunther of Lakeport was hit early evening on Sunday on 11th Street near North Street. The driver of the vehicle has not been identified, it is thought they were driving in an unsafe manner. Investigation into the accident continues.

Demolition of Old Howard Hospital Complete

The demolition of the old Howard Hospital in Willits is finished and the site is now being cleared. The over 100-year-old building started being torn down at the first of the year. The city of Willits is considering rezoning the property for mixed residential and commercial use.

Clearlake City Council Approves Purchase of Tax Defaulted Properties

The Clearlake City Council at their meeting last week approved the direct purchase of tax-defaulted properties from Lake County.
