The hiker who died after falling from the cliffs in Point Arena has been identified. TheMendoVoice reports Job Daniel Nunez-Gamino was walking his dog when passers-by saw him fall. His family said he often walked the cliffs along the bluff where he fell. Investigation into the death continues.

California State Parks announced that a new park project in Cobb is being recommended for funding through the Land and Water Conservation Fund. 16 local park projects have been recommended to the National Park Service. A high surf advisory remains in effect for coastal Mendocino County, with large breaking waves up to 24 feet. Dangerous surf conditions and localized beach erosion are possible. Large waves will be unpredictable and can sweep someone unaware into the ocean. Mariners are advised to stay in port.
