Missing Clearlake Woman Found

A woman reported missing in Clearlake earlier in the week has been found.  Kayla Johnston had been reported missing in the area of W.40th Avenue and Carrol Avenue.  Clearlake police said late yesterday that Johnston had been found.

Optum COVID Test to Treat Sites Closing

Mendocino County Public Health has announced that all Optumtest to treat sites in the county are closing.  The last test to treat date is today at the OptumServe Site in Fort Bragg.  COVID testing is still available, find a location at mendocinocounty.org.

Jobless Rate in Lake County Down Slightly

Although the state unemployment rate remains unchanged, Lake County has had a small improvement in the jobless rate. The Employment Development Department says the county’s unemployment rate was 5.1% in December, down from 5.3% in November. Last year, Lake County’s jobless rate was 5.8%.

A beach advisory continues through this afternoon, with sneaker waves and high tides, and big tidal swings along the coast. Sneaker waves can move across the beach without warning, sweeping people into the sea and carrying large objects capable of crushing anyone caught underneath.
