A Gualala man died Monday after his 2003 GMC Sierra crashed into a tree on Highway 1 in Mendocino County around 1 p.m. The northbound driver lost control for unknown reasons and was pronounced dead at the scene. Alcohol, drugs, and weather were not factors. The road was closed until 3:30 p.m. His name is withheld pending family notification. Multiple agencies responded.
