The National Weather Service has warned that king tides will bring dangerous conditions, including possible flooding, to Mendocino Coast beaches this week. Minor flooding is possible in low-lying areas like Arena Cove through Sunday, with the highest risk on Friday when the 9:14 a.m. high tide could reach 7.61 feet. Other low-lying areas in Albion, Fort Bragg, and Mendocino could also be affected. King tides are naturally occurring extra-high tides caused by the alignment of the sun and moon’s gravity.
