North Coast Opportunities or NCO announced Wednesday that its Head Start programs in Mendocino and Lake counties will continue despite the government shutdown. The Ukiah-based nonprofit provides early childhood education, health, nutrition, and family support to low-income children. NCO confirmed that Head Start classrooms, staff, and offices are not at risk of closure and will continue to provide comprehensive support.
