The Lake County Board of Supervisors meets today and will consider a proposal to study energy rate costs for Lake County if it were to join a community choice aggregator. Sonoma Clean Power has presented a preliminary estimate showing that rates in Lake County could go down, so the board is considering an updated feasibility study. Clearlake and Lakeport are also interested in a new study. If the study shows cost savings without placing undue pressure on Sonoma Clean Power’s existing customers, the company may extend a service offer.
