The Clearlake City Council has voted to acquire by eminent domain, a small section of private property located on San Joaquin Avenue. The acquisition is the first action by eminent domain in the history of the City of Clearlake. The acquisition, over the objections of the property owners, Bailey and Andrew Hulett, is part of the Gooseneck Landslide Emergency Repair Project. A landslide in February of last year threatened Lakeshore Drive. The council passed the resolution to acquire the property with a four to one vote.
