Ukiah City Council to Hear Report On Training New Paramedics

The Ukiah City Council will hear a report tomorrow on the Ukiah Valley Fire Authority’s efforts to train more paramedic personnel. The UVFA has been operating short of paramedics, resulting in increased overtime to ensure three paramedic staff are on shift to meet Coastal Valley’s Emergency Medical Services Agency regulations. The UVFA requested funding for two team members to attend an accelerated paramedic training program, which resulted in the successful completion of the training and reduced cost to the department.
