A beach hazard statement remains in effect through this afternoon for coastal Mendocino County. Sneaker waves continue to be a possibility. Those waves can sweep across beaches without warning, carrying people into the sea from rocks, jetties, and beaches. The waves also carry large objects that can crush a person.
