The Lakeport Police Department will be increasing patrols during the upcoming Labor Day holiday, focusing on identifying drivers under the influence of alcohol and drugs, or a combination of both during the long weekend. 32% of all traffic fatalities during the Labor Day weekend involved drivers who were impaired. Enhanced enforcement will run from this Friday through Monday, Sept. 2.
