Mendo Planning Commission Votes Down Legalizing Small Commercial Campgrounds

At the last meeting of the Mendocino County Planning Commission, the board voted against changes to the county’s zoning ordinance that would legalize small commercial campgrounds. According to KZYX, during the last few meetings on the subject, community members have expressed strong opposition to changes, citing a number of negative impacts that small commercial campgrounds could have on the surrounding community. The commission plans to gather more information regarding the issue and is expected to meet on it again later in the year or early next year.
