A Mendocino County Supervisor has asked the state Fair Political Practices Commission to weigh in regarding a second home he purchased on the coast, outside of his supervisorial district. Glenn McGourty on the loan application for the home said it would be his primary residence, which would be in violation, as he represents inland Mendocino’s 1st District and is required to live in his district. The disparity was brought to light by a concerned citizen who refuses to be publicly identified. His wife lives in the Fort Bragg house with their disabled adult son. McGourty leaves office in January of 2025 and insists there is nothing untoward in his motives, and will live in both residences.
