Wednesday, Governor Gavin Newsome thanked first responders for their efforts over the past weeks to help keep Californians safe during record-breaking winter storms. More than a foot of rain fell in parts of Southern California, hurricane-force wind gusts in Northern California, and daily rainfall records were broken, including the second-highest rainfall amount recorded over 3 days in downtown Los Angeles. Emergency responders supported communities with roadways, flood operations, rescue teams, shelters, and more.
