Lake County Declares State of Emergency Due to Storms

On Monday, Lake County Sheriff and County Emergency Services Director Rob Howe issued an emergency declaration for the county. The declaration states the conditions of extreme peril to the safety of the public and property that have resulted from the winter storms have caused serious damage across the county. PG&E is still reporting work on dozens of outage areas with hundreds of customers without power. The CHP is reporting many roads remain closed due to flooding, slides, fallen trees, and downed power poles. Residents are still advised to avoid any unnecessary travel. The Lake County Board of Supervisors meets today and is expected to ratify the emergency declaration.
