The rain brought by an atmospheric river weather system is expected to continue through midweek. Yesterday, high winds in many areas contributed to power outages across Lake and Mendocino Counties. Cobb and Kelseyville saw snow, as did part of Highway 20 near Highway 16 east of Clearlake Oaks. Wind gusts of up to 50 and along ridges up to 70 mph were felt. The Office of Emergency Management urged residents to stay home if at all possible. Downed trees and localized street flooding were reported in many areas. Lakeport Police reported many roads closed due to flooding, including some areas closed due to downed powerlines across roadways. Lakeport’s Library Park has seen some heavy damage, Park Street in that area will be closed through at least today.In Lake County, some 2,000 customers have reported power outages. Governor Gavin Newsome has declared a state of emergency across eight counties in the southern part of the state due to weather.
