A tree that fell in Willits after days of heavy rain and gusty winds was cleared from the road after briefly blocking the morning commute. Early Tuesday, Willits PD received calls that the northbound lanes of the 1000 block of South Main Street were blocked. The Mendocino County Sheriff’s office responded, as did the City’s Public Works Department and Caltrans. A non-injury accident involving the tree was also reported. Little Lake Fire was dispatched to lend aid. The tree was quickly cleared and traffic was restored.
