The Mendocino County Sheriff’s Office has arrested two people in connection with an investigation into human remains found in a burning vehicle in Covelo at the end of October. The license plate was intact, which allowed for identification of the registered owner, who’d been reported missing. Investigators found that the person had been working at an illegal marijuana grow. Two men also working the grow, Lawrence Allen Joaquin and Iran Lee Hoaglen were both arrested as suspects and are in custody on murder charges. The name of the person in the vehicle will be released once a positive identification has been made.
