The Lake County Treasurer/Tax Collector’s office has upgraded its check processing to a new electronic system. Checks received can be processed immediately through “lockbox processing”. Also, starting Monday, new property tax bill payments will no longer be sent to the Lakeport office. Instead, they will go to a vendor facility in Whittier, CA. This change will speed up payment processing.
