First Native American Woman In Space Will Speak in Covelo

The first Native American woman to go into space will visit Covelo tomorrow. Astronaut Col. Nicole Mann is scheduled to ride in the Indian Days Parade tomorrow, and will then speak at the Hidden Oak Amphitheater. Commander of the SpaceX Crew 5, Mann is a member of the Wailaki of the Round Valley indian tribe. The Indian Days celebration in Covelo takes place all weekend, with the parade, softball and horse shoe tournament, chili cookoff and more. A full schedule of events can be found at rvit.com.
