A COVID-19 outbreak at the Sunrise Special Services Warming Shelter at the former juvenile hall building on Whalen Way has been resolved. The outbreak was earlier this month, when 31 visitors to the warming center tested positive. Two days later, 13 test positive. All 31 were tested until they were negative. Sunrise Special Services Foundation’s chief executive officer Dr. Rayan Aava, says the shelter continues to implement stringent safety protocols to protect its clients and the public.
