At the reglar meeting of the Middletown Area Town Hall late last week, Lake County interim Sheriff Rob Howe presented updates to the group. TheRecordBee reports Howe said staffing is the biggest issute facing the agency. And the issue isn’t unique to the area, law enforcement is facing challenges finding, hiring and keeping qualified officers. Howe pointed out that surrounding counties are offering more attractive salaries and benefits.
