Bill Passed Will Sync Races for District Attorneys and Sheriffs to Presidential Elections

A bill recently signed into law by the Governor will align the races for district attorneys and sheriffs throughout the state with presidential elections. TheLakeCountyNews Reports Assembly Bill 759 will also temporarily extend the terms of the DAs and Sheriffs that have been elected in 2022. Those officials will serve six-year terms in order to line up with the 2028 presidential election cycle.
