The Mount Konocti Mutual Water Company has received a $2.3 million grant from the state’s Small Community Drought Relief Program to help address water supply challenges. The grant, funded by the Department of Water Resources will provide a total of $40 million to 15 counties in the state, including Lake County where the community’s water supply is threatened by the drought. The grant will allow the water company to replace leaking storage tanks and install low-water intake pumps.
