A group of residents is challenging the appointment of Annette Lee to the Middletown Unified School District Board. The Lake County News reports the California Education code allows for such challengers within 30 days of the appointment. If the challenge is certified, a special election at the cost of about $50,000 would be necessary to then fill the seat Lee would have occupied.
