Local water agencies sent letters late last month to Pacific Gas and Electric Company, asking them to restore reduced water flow to the Potter Valley Project to their usual levels. The Mendocino County Inland Water and Power Commission stated in their letter that Lake Mendocino is at about 36% of its storage capacity, which is the lowest level for the current date. Without the benefit of the requested water flow, communities that rely on Lake Mendocino may not be able to meet minimum needs and there could also be serious impacts to fish in the Russian River.
