In its last full meeting of the year, the Lake County Board of Supervisors will discuss separating the Public Works and Water Resources departments, which have been consolidated since 2019. The impetus for the discussion is the surge of federal infrastructure funding becoming available to the county and whether local needs should be best served by two separate entities in order to allow Public Works to focus on critical infrastructure projects. The board will examine options and make recommendations at a later date.
