The Mendocino Local Area Formation Commission according to a press release has finished its evaluation and has approved the proposed annexation of the City of Ukiah into Ukiah Valley Fire Protection District. The merger will help provide fair and equitable funding for fire and emergency response services for all Ukiah Valley residents and will help maintain fiscal stability of the fire and emergency medical services of the Ukiah Valley Fire Authority. The step will allow the fire authority to be better prepared to meet the need for fire and emergency services.
