The Ukiah Valley Fire Authority has responded to 168 fires so far this year. Of those fires, 113 were intentionally set. Two of the arson fires include the Hopkins Fire in Calpella, which destroyed dozens of homes. Another arson fire was the Highway Fire, which was close to Ukiah and caused hundreds of residents to be evacuated.
