Stolen vehicle crimes are on the rise again in Lakeport. The police department says that as of yesterday, they’ve taken 11 vehicle theft reports in only the first 4 months of the year. If this trend continues it is likely that LPD will respond to even more stolen vehicle reports than they did in 2020. That year at total of 31 vehicles were stolen and 28 were recovered. In 2019, there were 21 stolen vehicles, 14 recovered. Of the 11 stolen vehicles reported this year, 6 have been recovered so far. LPD is asking for the public’s help in preventing these crimes. If you see suspicious activity in a neighborhood, report it.
