The Ukiah City Council recently voted to create the city’s first Housing Overlay Zone for three parcels on East Gobbi Street. The move will save developers time as housing projects on the site can proceed with only a building permit as long as they meet certain city standards. The Community Development Director says the change still allows for local control as the city has objective development design standards that have been fully vetted. A mixed-use development is being proposed for the loculation.
