The U.S. House of Representatives passed a $1.9 trillion coronavirus relief package yesterday. Congressman John Garamendi said he voted to pass the relief package because it puts money out there that the country desperately needs. Congressman Mike Thompson, who also voted for the bill, said it includes billions to boost vaccine rollout and support for health care systems battling the pandemic. It also includes another round of Economic Impact Payments to help families, funding for small businesses to keep the doors open, and resources to help schools open safely. The President plans to sign the bill on Friday after Congress formally sends it to the White House.
