Willits Campus Of Mendocino College Will Be Home To New Career Training Center

State Senator Mike McGuire and officials announced a $20 million state and federal plan to transform Mendocino College’s Willits campus into a career-training hub. This largest-ever college investment, opening in spring 2029, will offer programs like home construction, lab service technology, and a Fire Academy, crucial for wildfire-prone Mendocino County. Secured after a decade of effort and partly funded by Proposition 2, the center is hailed as a “long-term investment” in workforce development, safety, and regional resilience.
